Virtual Device

Create virtual devices to use in automations or for shortcuts in dashboard.

Simply choose; Add device→Virtual Devices → Virtual Button

Now you have a virtual device that you can toggle between On and Off. This virtual device can also be placed as a shortcut on your dashboard.

What can you do with this?

Example 1; Groups

Use the virtual device to control multiple lights at the same time.

When: VirtualDevice is on

Then: Turn on windowlamp1, windowlamp2, windowlamp3

NOTE!: If you want to use your group in other automations then you need to enable "Allow loops" in automations settings, otherwise the Heart will not trigger your group because it want to prevent loops that can be missconfigured.

Example 2; Alarm

Use the virtual device to keep a state of something, like the alarm state for enable/disable alarm.

When: Movement detected

And: Alarm is on

Then: Turn on siren, send notification, take camera snapshot
